Three Of Our Favorite Coastal Artists on Instagram!
It's that time again! We want to showcase some of our favorite shell and coastal art creations we've seen these last few weeks as we cruise around the internet! We hope that seeing the awesome work these artists do will inspire you and expand your own ideas for what you can do with the bounty of the sea. Here are three of our recent favorites. Click their names to see their Instagram pages. Maybe you'd like to buy some of their art or ask them how they create their pieces!
MommySellsSeashells
Grace is from the Flagler Beach area in Florida. We really love the practical way she makes beautiful shell decor. It's versatile and looks good in a lot of settings. Speaking as people who create designs and some coastal art ourselves, one of the things we like about an artist like Grace is that most of it isn't flashy work, it's stuff where you slap your forehead and wish you'd thought of that, and that's why it works so well as decor. Check out more of her work at MommySellsSeashells today!
CentralCoastShells
One of the things that won us over with Maribel is that she collects shells on the California Central Coast. We do the same thing, and it can be more challenging finding pretty shells in the colder Pacific waters. But Maribel really uses the differences in the size and texture of central coast shells to make her shell art unique. Can't find smooth and colorful shells in your area? It's not a bug, it's a feature for CentralCoastShells!
DanaShellArt
And finally we have Dana of DanaShellArt, who I believe lives in Algarve, Potugal. What we like most about Dana's work is how the way she uses the colors and textures of the shells to create sculpture like lines and shapes within her compositions. She often times uses the texture of the shells the way a painter uses thick oils on a painting. We also really like her Instagram page because, as you go back in her posts, you can see on her videos and the work itself how she developed her style.
Seashells and sea glass, unlike paint or clay, are a non-variable medium. It's really interesting to see how these artists take something with these inherent limitations and their minds see a way to use them to create something so eye catching! Check out their pages. Maybe you'll get some good ideas, or even decide to buy some art for your home or office!
At Seashell Supply & Emporium we do, of course, sell a vast inventory of shells, so if you feel inspiration striking you we have the shells you need in addition to coastal and tiki decor and clothing.
